A.D. Players at The George Theater is proud to provide accessibility to our patrons through offerings such as closed captioning, audio-description and assistive listening devices. We offer wheelchair accessibility and are continuing to strive to meet the needs of everyone with different abilities.

Audio Descriptive Services

The Second Sunday of most productions is designated for audio description to allow seeing impaired patrons the chance to enjoy they all elements of the show. Through headsets, they receive additional description of set designs, costumes and other visual elements to enhance the theatre-going experience. These listening devices are available free of charge with the deposit of a photo ID.

Closed Captioning

Theatre Captioning is a form of live subtitling in which the actors' words appear as scrolling text located on a screen(s) located near or on the stage. Any speech, songs or sound effects are captioned, allowing people who are Deaf, deafened or hard-of-hearing to follow the show.

Assistive Listening Devices

The George Theater uses state of the art technology to benefit those with trouble hearing in an effort to enhance their theatrical experience. Currently all shows are broadcast locally through Portable Display RF Receivers from Listen Technologies. These devices Easy-to-wear headsets provide clear, amplified sound anywhere in our theater. These deceives work with standard headphones which are provided with the device.

These devices are available free of charge at the Will-Call desk directly to your right when you com in the main entrance.


Accessible Parking

The George Theater is proud to have easily accessible ground level parking at no additional cost. There are reserved handicap spots and there is an easy drop off entrance right from the parking lot.

Wheelchair and Transfer Seating

The George Theater has wheelchair and scooter accessible seating that allow patrons to remain in their wheelchairs or transfer to theater seats. We also have companion seats available as well. Patrons who cannot, or do not wish to transfer from their wheelchairs to a theater seat should request wheelchair accessible locations when ordering tickets. Accessible seating is on a first-come, first-served basis when not requested in advance.
