Monstering the SceneJoin friends from Monsters, Inc. to discover beginning skills in characterization and vocal inflection.  Students use their imaginations and become confident with creating voices and personalities on stage.

Madagascar: I Like To Move It, Move It!

I like to move it move itIn the wild of Madagascar, students (and animals alike!) learn basic musical theatre choreography.  Movement, gestures, and body shapes are included as students sing and dance!

Where the Wild Things Are: Born to Be Wild!

Born to be WildMeet Max, who is hailed King of the Wild Things, as he enjoys a playful romp with his subjects.  In this Academy class, students learn pantomime through literature helping them to focus on the important elements of drama:  self-awareness, physicalization, working cooperatively and of course, acting.

The Jungle Book: Monkeying Around

Monkeying AroundAnimals and humans alike learn to improvise in order to survive.  Join Mowgli and his friends from Jungle Book to learn the basics of surviving on the stage.  Without a script, students learn to act with their friends in scenes that unfold in a ‘wild’ way as characters develop.

Zootopia: Accepting Your Inner Animal!

Accepting your inner animalJourney to Zootopia with Academy II to experience unique dialects and intonation.  These basic vocal skills help to hone characterization for young actors and our unique friends in Zootopia make it an adventure that will not soon be forgotten.

Dance to the beat of your own drumMumble the Penguin can’t sing -- but he can dance!  And he uses his fancy feet to help the thers in his penguin colony accept that differences can be a strength rather than a weakness. In this fast-paced Academy dance class, learn the basics of dancing for future stage productions. Dance to the beat of your own drum!

The Lion King: A Study in Hamlet

A Study in HamletDid you know that The Lion King was based on Shakespeare’s work?  This class will explore the literary masterpiece of Hamlet and discuss its footprint on the story of Simba. Acting and analysis combine to encourage understanding the art behind the work.

Tarzan: Rhythm of the Jungle

TarzanIn the spirit of Stomp, this Academy class will combine rhythm and acting to “Trash the Camp.”  The monkeys of Tarzan’s jungle are mischievous, but the twist for this class is that our wild things will take the negative and turn it into a positive.  Join the fray!

Madagascar, A Musical Adventure

MadagascarBased on the DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar-A Musical Adventure follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.  Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip-hop Hippo, and of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto the stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime!  Filled with outlandish character, adventure galore, and an upbeat score, Madagascar will leave audiences with no choice but to “Move It, Move It!”
